The Quran admonishes killing daughter, as in some countries unfortunately it is practiced, because of severe poverty. Hence, do not kill your children for fear of poverty: it is we who shall provide sustenance for them as well as for you. Verily, killing them is a great sin. (17:31)

In some countries fathers sell thier daughters for a very low price, and use them as an economic income. I heard of a father saying that, women are of no value, if we can get money by selling them is a good way to use them.
Brothers and sisters, at least take a minute and think of your religion, Islam that what it says and what today some of us are doing.

Thanks Zohra for your comment. It is very true that there is a need of liberal Islamic women scholars who can aware Muslims about their Islamic rights. Islam came into existence in seventh century AD when men and women were not treates equally. But the same should not be followed today in teh name of tradition. This is something which should be learnt by the hardliners.
