The book is an example of a courage. By reading this book I felt that the cultural...

Sorry to burst your bubble Bhawana , but it looks like Souad is nothing but the second coming of Norma Khouri. It’s unlikely that ”Burned Alive” was actually written by someone familiar with life in Palestine. Therese Taylor debunks it here.

Thx Robert for the comment. But according to my research Burned Alive is a true account by a victim of ”honor crime” itself. You can go through the following two links.

Hi Bhawana,
unfortunately, the publishers have provided no proof for the authenticity of the book, or explanations for its multiple implausibilities. Please check out Therese Taylor’s review at antiwar.com (it was originally published in the April 2005 edition of the Australian magazine The Diplomat): http://www.antiwar.com/orig/ttaylor.php?articleid=5801
This all looks like another cynical attempt to cash in on a very serious issue. Books like ”Burned Alive”or ”Forbidden Love” ultimately do far more harm than good when they are written in such a way that anyone who has actually been to the countries described can see they are fakes. Remember, it was Jordanian feminists who first exposed Norma Khouri.
